Parish News

Good afternoon,

Party in the Playing Field
There is lots going on with the Party in the playing Field this weekend. Don’t forget to get those bug hotels and bug themed cakes to the marquees by 2.30pm for judging. There is the usual Tug of War, raffles, food and drink, and lots of games to play. There is a children’s colour run this year, so don’t forget your white t-shirt, goggles and to complete the forms before you enter, and bring your dog down to enter the dog show. There will be dance displays and exciting bike ramp shows. The Disney Princess is on hand again, and the school Young Voices will be singing a tune or two. Finish off the night with dancing with some local bands.

Please remember the Playing Field Car Park will be CLOSED from Saturday 22nd 8am all day to provide a safe environment. There will be limited access allowed. Please help make this run smoothly by moving your cars out on Friday evening.

New Councillors
We welcome two new co-opted Cllrs at the last meeting. Trevor Boultwood and James Matthews now join the Parish Council. Their details will be available soon on the website.

Whiteshill and Ruscombe Open Gardens.
Following on from Party on the Playing Field, St Pauls are organising an Open Gardens event taking place on Saturday 29th June. Tickets are available from the village shop, and this is linking into the Parish Council’s Biodiversity policies too.

Litter issues
We still have many reports of litter across the playing field, and have some wonderful people who voluntarily pick it up too as they are out and about. However, this should all be being put in the bins. There are 3 bins on the playing field and 2 more in the car park, so there is no excuse! On such a well used facility with amazing views, it needs to be looked after and respected by all, so please use the bins and thank you to those who pick up additional bits along the way.

Speedwatch Group
Would you like to volunteer to do some speed watches in the Parish. We currently have 3 Cllr volunteers who are going to start this up, so if anyone wants to join this group and attend some training, please let me know so I can organise this with the police.

Kind regards
Helen Dunn, Parish Clerk
