Good morning,
Party in the Playing Field
Just over a week ago the Parish Council held the Party in the Playing Field, and it was an amazing day. Thanks go to those who organised this, with Cllr Nickie Webster leading the event and all the fabulous volunteers involved. These can’t be done without you all, and if you enjoyed it and think maybe you can spare a few hours to also be involved, let us know as we are always looking out for volunteers. Dare I say it, but the next date will be the Christmas event of Santa’s Grotto!
Biodiversity
The Biodiversity working group continue to meet to look at the wide range of biodiversity we have in the parish and to see how this can be improved on and where everyone can get involved to do their bit. If you have any valuable skills or are interested in being involved, the group will be meeting tomorrow night in The Star at 7pm for their next session. You will be very welcome to join.
You may have seen that the Village Green at the top of the village has had a 1m strip mown around the edge and we are letting the remaining area grow up to see what is there and to help with the wildlife. If you see anything interesting, please fell free to photo it and send in.
Playing area and field
We are currently waiting for a quote for play equipment. as we said before, we are looking to make some of the equipment more accessible, looking at a roundabout and basket swing with paths to be able to reach these. On the playing field we will be looking at a table tennis table and how to make the basketball hoop more useable with a surface around to be able to bounce the balls. Any comments on this project are always welcome.
Litter continues to be a bit of a problem, the playing field is a well used facility and it needs to be looked after. Please do pick up your litter and place it in one of the bins. There are 3 on the playing field, one in the play area, and two on the car park. We know sometimes animals play their part by picking litter out of the bins (we have seen the birds do it!), but they are not the only culprits, so if you see a bit of litter please pick it up and drop it into the nearest bin. We really want to keep on top of this to look after this valued asset. Thank you
